The Royal Anthropological Institute will again be offering special group rates for classes, departments and degree programs on Online Festival Passes for the online portion of the RAI FILM Festival 2025, which will run from 16 June to 16 July, including the online RAI FILM Conference from 1 to 4 July. A pass will give students unrestricted online access across the 4 weeks of the festival to all films and our academic conference.

What is the RAI FILM Festival? Established in 1985 by the Royal Anthropological Institute (UK), the RAI FILM Festival is the largest of its kind, offering a feast of films and filmmakers that represent all corners of the world. Centered around anthropological research and teaching, we showcase the latest documentary films that interrogate our complex, shared world telling stories about people, places and issues that are too often lost in the spotlight of global media. We showcase fearless films that ask difficult questions, build bridges, promote dialogue and show anthropology in action. We are an inclusive festival, fostering discovery and learning whilst encouraging and mentoring first-time and student filmmakers.

How to get involved?  We’re keen to have your students (the next generation of anthropologists!) involved online with a wide range of materials for your students to engage with.  With a pass, your students would have unrestricted online access across the 4 weeks of the festival to all films, live conference presentations and filmmaker Q&As.

The programme: the full film and conference programme will be released in May 2025. You can also view the conference presentations in our online archive. We will be available from May 2025 for consultations on how to include the festival into your curricula. We are happy to help you integrate the films and conference presentations into your teaching plans.

What is on offer?  The RAI FILM Festival 2025 will include films on a dedicated streaming platform. This will be accessible 24/7, worldwide, from 16 June to 16 July, to anyone with a Festival Pass. It will also include access to an online academic conference from 1 to 4 July (the details about this conference are yet to be confirmed, but coming soon).

How do students get access?  We will generate individual promo codes that can be used from anywhere. And you can distribute them as you wish.

How much does a group rate cost? We have come up with a sliding scale – the more passes you buy, the less they will cost. Get in touch via the form below to find out more and to register your interest.
