In ancient Eastern thought, there are no absolute truths and even in death there is no one model. Through the film’s two characters and their simple acts of daily life we explore two contrasting ideas on death. For Vikram his ancestral title of ‘Dom’, both empowers him and makes him the lowest untouchable caste. Invisible in mainstream society he finds an outlet in street photography, which is threatened by the advent of mobiles. Once Tokyo’s celebrated artist, poet ‘Dada’ now runs a tourist lodge with his Japanese wife. In his inner life he practises the mystical art of dying.
