Judge for Richard Werbner Award for Visual Ethnography
Emiko Stock is an anthropologist and filmmaker whose work explores disrupted histories, counter-archival practices, and visual intimacy. At the intersection of ethnographic and experimental documentary, her films – The Wedding Picture (2013), Commute (2015), and The Wedding (2021) – examine the relation between still and moving images, and analog and digital practices, and have screened at film festivals and universities. She co-curated The Virtual Otherwise (2022), served on the jury of the Ismailia Documentary Film Festival (2024), and co-founded the collective CoMMPCT.
