.
A political biography of the activist Kath Locke, from Manchester's Moss Side, based on an interview conducted by her political comrade Paul Okojie shortly before her death in 1992, aged 64. Confronted with racism at an early age, she was sustained by a strong sense of belonging to the African diaspora throughout her many campaigns for the rights of black people, both at home and abroad. She was also highly active in campaigning for women's rights as well as in the promotion of many different educational and cultural activities, including the formation of Moss Side's celebrated Abasindi women's dance group. (This film was produced to mark the 50th anniversary celebration of the 6th Pan-African Congress in Manchester.)
