In the golden age of Puerto Casado, in Paraguay, at least eight cows were slaughtered every day to feed its population of 6,000 people. Eating "asado" (roasted meat) is still at the core of the social and political life of the little town. This documentary focuses on the ritual slaughtering of one particular cow as part of the daily routine of a group of men who are now claiming a piece of land where to make a living as cattle farmers. While they slaughter the cow and wait for her death, they talk about other deaths, women and love.
