This film explores the aesthetics of dying, family as a unit of care, and taking the last vital breath in Kashi, India’s sacred city.
With Kashi Labh, Nayyar reflects upon his work with families who make a pilgrimage to Kashi. It uses audiovisual ethnography as a shared ontological approach to researching and understanding the imaginative lifeworlds family members as they await and confront the death of a parent.
