Synopsis
The critically-acclaimed film City of God (2002) is a fiction film based on a novel about a real place known as Cidade de Deus (City of God), located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Through the perspective of multiple local voices, the ethnographic documentary The Way I See Today focuses on the symbolic and real-life effects produced by these fictional narratives. The film also raises issues on control over representation while combining participatory and eliciting methods.
