The poem attempts to illustrate the reasoning behind changes in my personal approach towards resisting racism in britain, from the individual to state violence. It considers the limited scope for radical change when popular anti-racism is predominantly liberal and concerned primarily with the integrating of the other into an imagined nation state. It might act as a reminder that solace exists in putting energy into causes aligned with a shared political ambition, from which cultures of resistance embedded in revolutionary love arise.
