Directed by
Futuru C.L. Tsai
.
Futuru Tsai explores the relationship between Amis people and the sea in this playful portrait of maritime culture in coastal Taiwan. The film focuses on various social and practical activities in the intertidal zone where locals and sea life seek a precarious survival. And by extension, the film poses questions about the fate of an indigenous community caught in the ebb and flow between traditional livelihoods and culture and a larger urban world beyond.
