This first part of a forthcoming trilogy documents the lifestyle of nomadic fishermen traveling and trading between Nigeria, Niger and Mali. While nomadic fishermen engaged in seasonal migrations were numerous in the past, recent trends show a dramatic shrinking. The film explores some of the reasons why nomadic fishermen tend to settle and abandon their way of life. It offers a reflection on how mobility and migration are governed in a world dominated by sedentary societies.
